Longwood Pediatrics encourages our patient families to take an active part in their health through education and consultation. In the following pages, we provide information about some common conditions and illnesses. We provide the below information for your reference but it is not meant to replace a visit with your medical provider. Please contact us if you feel your child needs to be seen in the office.

Please always dial 911 in the case of a medical emergency.

Please explore the links on the left for some helpful information regarding your child’s health.

You can search our site for useful information by using the search field at the top of this page. You can also search a highly recommended site named UpToDate.com that collects clinical recommendations from doctors in various specialties and presents it so it can be more easily researched by patients. Just enter your question in the field to the right:
If you are seeing this, you have attempted to link to the UpToDate widget but are experiencing a problem. Please visit UpToDate for more information.

We have a section with information on Vaccines, where you can find out about the vaccine schedule we follow at Longwood Peds, some useful links to sites with more information about vaccine safety, and a statement that highlights our views on the importance of vaccines.

We have also included all of the hand-outs that we provide at well visits from birth to 3 years of age, and hope that these will serve as a supplement to the advice provided at your well visits.

There are also pages with information about a few common medical issues including things like appropriate dosing of Tylenol and Motrin for fevers, how to treat diarrhea, constipation, etc. Remember that you can always call us if you cannot find the answers that you are looking for on our site.

We’ve also tried to create a special area of the site dedicated to Teen Health so that our adolescent and young adult patients can find health information specifically targeted for them.

For more information about a number of different health topics from a trusted source, please click the icon below to visit HealthyChildren.org, which is produced by the AAP.

The AAP News Parent Plus page also has a nice site with lots of helpful tips for parents.
