We are pleased that you have considered Longwood Pediatrics as your pediatrics medical provider. We would like for you to consider us as your medical home; your first stop for all your children’s medical needs.

Longwood Pediatrics is a private practice that is comprised of board certified pediatricians, nurse practitioners , and registered nurses.  We all work together in a collaborative manner to provide care to our patients from birth through adolescence in a patient centered medical home.   Our physicians are teachers and preceptors who participate in teaching Harvard medical students in the office, as well as residents and medical students in the hospital.  We collaborate closely with our colleagues at Children’s Hospital and participate in clinical  research studies that we feel will improve the patient care that we deliver.

We make every effort to be available to our patients whether by phone, a visit to the office, or through the patient portal.  Appointments are available and patients are seen in the office 365 days a year, although visits on weekends and holidays are for sick visits only (call the office if you think your child needs to be seen at one of these times).  We have a team of experienced nurses who will provide you with advice when your child is sick or well.  We are committed to delivering excellent and compassionate care to our patients at all times.

In 2008, our office converted to an electronic medical record (EMR) system, called eClinical Works (eCW), that effectively coordinates the care we deliver to our patients.  Prescriptions are done electronically, which decreases the potential for error and improves patient safety.  As an added benefit, our patients and their families can also access the EMR through our patient portal.  Please note that due to issues surrounding adolescent confidentiality, not all elements of the medical record will be available for your viewing through the portal.

We are linked with the Children’s Hospital computer system in our office and can easily track labs, visit notes to the emergency room and specialists’ offices, as well as radiology results and images.  If your child is admitted to Children’s Hospital for any reason, our physicians will see your child while they are hospitalized and provide care to them throughout their hospitalization.

In order to facilitate ease of access for our patients, we have developed various policies to outline our office flow processes and procedures.   We have guidelines for scheduling appointments,  payment for visits, referrals, prescription refills and international travel.  You can search our website or call us or contact us through the patient portal.  We are here for you.
